Early in humankind’s history, intuition was an innate ability we used to survive in an unpredictable and dangerous environment. Intuition continues to be an important ability for our survival. Intuition is a natural, instinctive awareness that helps us to negotiate decisions and problem solving. As humankind matured, we became more rational and less dependent on our innate intuitive skills. The study of intuition has had a bad reputation in the scientific world. However, recently researchers and psychiatrists have supported and encouraged the use of intuition in their professions. How does this concept play a role in career development and counselling?
